a film by Melissa Young and Mark Dworkin |
Melissa Young and Mark Dworkin have been producing documentaries together since 1986, when they founded Moving Images Video Project to produce and distribute documentaries that encourage peace, social justice, and care for the environment.
Their films have screened on television and in festivals all over the world, including at Planet in Focus, Global Village, the Havana Festival of New Latin American Cinema, the Tri-Continental Documentary Festival, and the Chicago, Houston, Columbus, Northwest, United Nations Association, and Prix Leonardo film festivals They have also been honored with three CINE Golden Eagle awards and by the Environmental Media Awards, Women in Film, and the National Educational Media Network.
In recent years the major media have become more consolidated and less diverse. But Moving Images continues to provide a strong and relevant independent voice, always emphasizing the public interest, and remaining on the cutting edge of environmental, human rights, and global justice issues.
